  • At each institution ensure a multidisciplinary team that coordinates an adequate workflow (including using tissue for molecular analysis)
  • Discuss each patient’s case within a multidisciplinary team to provide individualised diagnostic and therapeutic plans
  • Reflex testing – a testing policy that does not require a separate clinician order for each case – is appropriate if agreed upon by the lung cancer care team
  • Implementing reflex sectioning and reflex molecular testing provides for expedited and consistent routing of specimens, shortened testing turn-around time and preservation of tissue
